If the holidays felt like a blur, now is an opportune time to slow down and savor Chicago’s wintry delights.
This month is traditionally a slow time for restaurants, the museums and sights feel a little less hectic and the sidewalks aren’t clogged with shoppers (though they may be icy), all good reasons for getting out and experiencing what makes this city amazing on your own time.
Eat Chicago Restaurant Week kicks off on Friday, Jan. 24. Despite its name, this annual event is a full 17 days, with prix-fixe dining deals at more than 400 restaurants, including our own 20 East (check out our special menu here). It’s a great time to try that new hotspot or rediscover an old favorite.
The blockbuster exhibit, “Andy Warhol—From A to B and Back Again,” wraps up Sunday, Jan. 26 at the Art Institute of Chicago. You’ll definitely need more than 15 minutes to appreciate this retrospective of the iconic artist’s work.
