Pebblebrook Hotel Trust is committed to pursuing programs that reduce the impact of our properties on the environment. We constantly evaluate energy usage, water consumption and waste production by running detailed benchmarking throughout our portfolio. We also engage third party consultants to assess the energy performance and further reduce the environmental impact of our standing investments. The initiatives we follow in a continued effort to decrease the Company’s carbon footprint include the following:

  • Retro commissioning programs to ensure that all Mechanical and Electrical equipment is at peak efficiency
  • Water Conservation:

  • Guest Sustainability Opt-In Programs provide guests a monetary incentive to opt out of certain services in their rooms, reducing laundry and in-room cleaning services and the consumption of water and cleaning chemicals
  • Linen-free banquet tables utilized, reducing the amount of dirty laundry and water used for washing
  • Low-flow water fixtures in all guest bathrooms, minimizing water consumption

  • Implementing comprehensive waste and recycling programs
  • Substituting individual disposable soap and shampoo bottles with bathroom amenity dispensers
  • Replacing paper guest folios with electronic folios
  • Suspending newspaper delivery to each guest room

  • Reducing or eliminating disposable live cut flowers; substituting with live plants where appropriate to add the benefit of improved air quality
