A few months of suspenseful baseball games are still in the cards, yet even in the off season, when the Chicago Cubs have long cleared Wrigley Field and the Rink is primed for ice skating, there will be another reason to hightail it to Wrigleyville: Lucky Dorr Patio & Tap, named for a long-time, 20th-century Cubs groundskeeper. This newly opened beer shrine in the Park at Wrigley has 20 taps that revolve around local brewers like Begyle, Revolution, Dovetail, and Right Bee cider—with easy-drinking Moscow Mules and Daiquiris on draught for cocktail enthusiasts. The 700-square-foot, industrial-inspired space, outfitted with brick, pipes, and flat-screen TVs, is run by Hickory Street Capital and the prolific chef/owner Matthias Merges of Folkart Restaurant Management (Yusho, Billy Sunday, A10, and Old Irving Brewing fame), so serious pub grub (fried salami chips! lamb sticks! ranch popcorn!) is thankfully also on offer.
