Where to Holiday Shop in San Jose

Santana Row has the word “Santa” in it. What could go wrong?

San Jose’s Santana Row is the ritzy sibling of the Westfield Valley Fair across the street. Let’s just call it Santa Row for holidays’ sake (though locals may take issue; they call it The Row). The shops at this pretty outdoor mall hit all the sweet spots of clothing currency, from H&M to Gucci. That pretty much covers everyone on your list.

A favorite stop is Sugarfina. This self-described “candy boutique for grown-ups” humbly began in Beverly Hills, making sweets like Jordan almonds haute couture. The champagne bears—gummy bears made from real champagne—are addictive. And okay for children and those women who are expecting. The alcohol burns off in the cooking process. Much of the candy is sourced from the best stores in Europe.

Your lunch break? Build a burger at The Counter. A real have-it-your-way burger, and two words: parmesan fries. Then, three words: Birthday Cake shake. Three more words: Full of joy.

Foot time at Santa Row (sorry, we love that nickname). Lavande is kind of the bomb to treat those barking dogs to a vanilla milk pedicure. Good enough to eat.
