Your New Chicago Hotspot

Chicagoans already flock to Hotel Lincoln (one word: rooftop), and now there’s a new bonus to make it a Lincoln Park destination: The Kennison. The sexy space, named for a Revolutionary War hero, is outfitted with old-fashioned sapphire leather booths, yet this collaboration between the 90/94 Restaurant Group and prolific Boka Restaurant Group, is truly a joint for the everyman—whether they are in a rumpled t-shirt or donning a tie. Manning the kitchen is Bill Walker, a chef who has cooked at restaurants like Green Zebra and Old Town Social with an affinity for the Green City Market across the street, which means dishes like chorizo mussels with sorrel and sourdough, vegetarian “pastrami” on rye, and tagliatelle with buckwheat, green garlic, fava, and maitake mushrooms are spruced up with the freshest produce. At the oak bar, relax with a Hard to Please (Peligroso tequila, watermelon, lime, Tajín) or the signature bourbon Old Fashioned with root beer, vanilla, and sassafras tincture, then turn your attention to the “rawtender,” who oversees the raw bar and its glamorous stock of oysters topped in a frozen Champagne mignonette.
