Whether you’re looking for sweet or spicy, stopping in for an after-work drink or on vacation and looking for a waterfront view, Hotel Vitale‘s Americano Restaurant & Bar is San Francisco’s happy hour spot du jour all summer long.
With a spacious waterfront patio and a cocktail to please every palate, it’s an easy place to enjoy an evening. Plus, happy hour begins at 3pm so you can make the most of your summer schedule.
Like the entrees, Americano’s cocktails are built from ingredients that are locally sourced and organic whenever possible, and the brilliant minds behind the bar aren’t shy about pouring beverages with powerful flavor profiles. Bartender Jason walked us through a few of the current favorites.
“We’re not afraid to push the envelope with bright and vibrant flavors,” he says. “We like to experiment with herbs and bitters to round out a cocktail.”
First up is the lively Hornet’s Knees, a twist on the classic Bee’s Knees. Made with cilantro syrup, green chili vodka and lemon, and garnished with jalapeños, it has a bit of a sting 😉
The elegant Blueberry Lavender Lemonade is one of Americano’s most popular drinks — a sweet summertime sip garnished with a trio of beautiful berries. The drink’s blueberry shrub is made in-house by combining fresh blended blueberries, lavender tea and champagne vinegar, and letting the mixture ferment for about three days.
The Aqua de Fleur is another fan favorite because “Mezcal is hot right now,” Jason explains. This “flower water” features chamomile syrup and honey for a bit of sweet meets smokey.
To round out the happy hour experience, order a bar bite or three off the menu that includes a tasty lineup of deviled eggs, pork and beef meatballs, Brussels sprouts, and four varieties of pizza that can be topped with a farm egg, arugula, avocado or prosciutto.
What are you waiting for, get out there and savor the last few weeks of summer on Americano’s waterfront patio!
