House Keeping

With fixtures like TWIGA gallery, Anthem and Anthem Bed & Bath, and the Serena & Lily Design Shop, Sacramento Street has become a mecca for one-of-a-kind home furnishings. Inspired by their neighbors, new shops are always opening up here, too. Consider Lebreton. Formerly in the Jackson Square district, this gallery is now found on the corner of Presidio, showing off a beautiful collection of art and furniture pieces like Jean-Claude Farhi’s slanted, translucent-topped Methacrylate table and the circa 1970 “Directeur” desk from Michel Boyer, melding walnut, Formica, aluminum, and brushed stainless steel. Sculptures, paintings, and ceramics, including Suzanne Ramie’s glazed vases, are also up for grabs. Found by Maja, at the corner of Laurel, is another delight. Interior and product designer Maja Lithander Smith travels the world, assembling such motley goods as silk-velvet pillows, striped jute rugs, and silver-dipped seagrass baskets handmade in Uzbekistan, India, and Vietnam.
