Our Artist in Residence, Megan Roy, dreams up creative projects inspired by our hotels. This time, it’s The Epiphany Hotel in Palo Alto, surrounded by today’s coolest VC firms and fastest-growing companies. It’s where bright minds go to launch start-ups, attend Stanford reunions, and meet with the board.
And the project? Abstract paintings that will really make you think.
Megan says, “The Epiphany is modern and compelling. Its spaces are filled with clean lines and clever nods to the city and theme. Every room’s design combines beauty and functionality to inspire creativity in whoever comes in. I wanted to reproduce all of that in a series of minimal paintings, each one a colorful brainteaser. I tried to keep them approachable while maintaining the curious quality of abstract art. I think if The Epiphany could hold a paintbrush, it would paint something like this.”
About the artist: Megan Roy is an illustrator, designer, and s’mores enthusiast from New Hampshire currently living in Los Angeles.
