Out-of-this-World Fashion and Flowers

Buckle up and blast off this spring at Macy’s in New York, San Francisco and Chicago. Upon entering the three flagships, shoppers will plunge into deep (flower) space for “Journey to Paradisios.”

The department store’s 73rd Flower Show balances two beauts: fashion and flowers, botany and Balenciaga, plants and pants … or, in the case of this year’s show, pants, plants and planets.

A few of the flower stations that you can travel to are “Carnivorous Wilds—Dark and Scary Swamplands,” “Mission Control,” and “Alien Forest.” In all, 17 species of trees and over 5,000 individual plants will represent 100 varieties in every color of the rainbow.

The two-week show, which starts March 24th, has happened annually since 1946. It happens at Macy’s Herald Square, New York; Macy’s Union Square, San Francisco; and Macy’s State Street, Chicago.
