Diners at Oakland hotspot Itani Ramen keep returning for the Donburi rice bowls and miso pork ramen. But the restaurant is especially energetic from 3 p.m.- 6 p.m. and then 10 p.m.-close when Genki Happy Hour gets underway. During this daily (and nightly) ritual, flights of sake are just $9, and pitchers of Sapporo, $18. Or, opt for a $4 nightcap of shochu on the rocks, accompanied by a mess of ginger-tinged pork gyoza at one buck a pop.
