The Big Easy’s contribution to the Fringe Festival movement, the Faux/Real festival (November 3–13) has it all: theater, spoken word, puppetry, dance, poetry slams, cabaret, and—because this is New Orleans—great food and drink. Just look at these pics from last year’s lineup for a hint of what to expect. Oh, you want specifics? How about Esperanza Spalding’s new take on jazz, a tour of colonial cocktails with writer Wayne Curtis, and an election-night party at Cane & Table—half-price tankards for anyone dressed like a Founding Father…or Mother.
