A Dupont Circle shop shares a couple of great gift ideas.
A 2,000-square-foot shop with two levels, Tabletop has kept legions of Washington, D.C. entertainers on their game with stylish items for the home and table. We tapped one of the owners, Daphne Olive, for gift suggestions.
For the host or hostess? A bottle of wine works. However, a carafe is something hosts can reuse. Olive’s go-to is the handblown glass decanter capped with a ball of oak. And it costs about the same as a decent Cab.
Stocking stuffer? The shop carries a bipartisan D.C. tote that can fold, origami-like, into a stocking.
For her? Olive designs delicate jewelry that is affordably priced. The rose gold-plated radius earrings have sterling silver ear wires. Olive’s collection is inspired by her walks in the woods.
For him? Whisky stones are a pleaser, and the set comes with two tumblers. Just add bourbon!
