Though chef David Kinch has more than a couple Michelin stars on his CV, you can’t accuse him of being a white-tablecloth elitist. Earlier this year, he opened Bywater, a New Orleans-inspired seafood joint, down the street from his original Los Gatos restaurant, Manresa, and now he’s apparently launching a bakery empire. First came a stall at the Campbell farmers market, then an actual store, Manresa Bread, on Los Gatos’ North Santa Cruz Avenue, and as of June, a second store—this one in Los Altos. The more, the merrier, we say. Pass us a slice of the levain?
