Shopping, Al Fresco Style

When the urge to shop strikes, look no further than San Jose retail and dining haven Santana Row. Especially delightful, though, is the modern-day craft fair Makers Market in the Park, held on the first or second Saturday of each month—next up is August 5—through December at Santana Row Park. Here, an intimate collection of some twenty indie artisans sell goods from jewelry to skincare to handbags, including eco-minded, made-in-Campbell GypsyVine soy candles that are poured into mason jars and recycled wine bottles, as well as naturally dyed scarves and home décor from Berkeley’s Modern Shibori.
