If Santa Wore a Speedo…

A few of the stops to enjoy a tropical post-holiday season.

Hello holiday hustlers (dads and moms of Santa-believing children),

The busy season will soon be behind you. You can do it! You’ll need a little down time after the big day—a break from the cookie eating and egg nogging. Come December 26, it’s the time to shed any fur-trimmed suits you may have had to hide behind, leave Blitzen et al behind, and slip into a pair of Speedos. Head south! In Miami, you may discover the exact opposite atmosphere of Christmas.

Tropical Park is attractively named. For sure, snowfall is zero. Instead expect the fit (joggers, boxers, boot campers, racquet ball players) as well as the equestrian minded. Tropical Park is on the grounds of a former race track. The Ronald Reagan Equestrian Center within the park sees its fair share of horses. On Saturdays, the farmers spread their wares for a grand market day.

Yes, you might be so over hot chocolate. But this one is frozen. The Sugar Factory in Miami Beach will dish it out classic style, PB infused, and a white chocolate coconut.

On the opposite side of the spectrum, tune up your bod at Bikram Yoga Miami, South Beach, where you will sweat—the room is heated to 102 degrees. A window in the studio looks onto the beach so place your mat accordingly. Single class and a weekly pass available. Namaste.
