Our Artist in Residence, Megan Roy, dreams up creative projects inspired by our hotels. This time, it’s Galleria Park Hotel, located in a beautiful historic building in the heart of downtown San Francisco.
From Megan: “The Galleria Park Hotel describes itself as having ‘classic design with a contemporary twist.’ To represent that sentiment, I created a series of minimalist, gold bracelets with handcrafted clay beads. These bracelets are stylish and modern, while remaining interesting and approachable, just like the Galleria Park Hotel. I liked the idea of jewelry for this location because at first glance, it looks very chic and elegant, like a classic piece of gold jewelry. The handmade beads give the bracelets more of a unique, artisanal feel that embodies the subtle contemporary touches inside this San Francisco hotel that come alive when you take a closer look.”
About the artist: Megan Roy is an illustrator, designer, and s’mores enthusiast from New Hampshire currently living in Los Angeles. While her favorite medium is pen on paper, she has spent time working in film and television, photography, and on large-scale installations. She has been decorating the world since 1986.
These bracelets are for sale in my shop, here, here, and here–and you see more of her work on Instagram and on her site!
