Even visitors from flatlands should consider San Francisco by bike.
San Franciscan bicyclists are super creative when it comes to pedaling the hill-ridden city—but not without the navigation smarts of San Francisco Bicycle Coalition and Google, both of which map the 49 square miles by elevation. Hill-less routes do exist. The most famous is the Wiggle, a circuitous route that takes the casual biker from downtown to Hayes Valley to Golden Gate Park.
