It’s Never Too Early To Start Shopping

Inspired by medieval holiday markets in Germany—in particular, the one in Nuremberg, which dates back to 1545—Chicago’s Christkindlmarkt takes over Daley Plaza every year, with dozens of stalls selling German handicrafts (cuckoo clocks, wooden toys, nutcrackers, beer steins) and appropriately Teutonic seasonal snacks like mulled wine, sausages, döner kebab, and potato pancakes.
