You can’t make it ’til you’ve tried it.
Local Laguna legend Walter Viszolay is a man about town. He can be seen riding the waves at one of the beaches, like Oak Street, Heisler Park, or Sleepy Hollow Street, and also spotted easily walking the streets: The 65-year-old always wears his straw hat.
You can find him at his art gallery on South Coast Highway. But only at Pacific Edge Hotel can you get an intimate look at one of his most monumental photographs, at 13 feet high by 11 feet wide. The photomural gives a surfer’s-eye-view of Laguna, wrapped up in a crashing wave and a sunset. Now that’s the beach town spirit we came for.
