A Matchbooks Walking Tour

Matchbooks used to be a common calling card (as well as a way to light a cigarette). San Francisco’s Tenderloin Museum keeps a vintage collection. These tiny history books are stamped with logos of bars, restaurants, and lounges that often no longer exist.

These vintage matchbooks serve as a starting point for the museum’s evening Matchbook Walking Tour on March 14th. The museum leads other tours of the neighborhood throughout the year. But if you have a true affinity for matchbooks, the museum also sells the book, The Match Book: Vintage Matchbooks from San Francisco’s Tenderloin.
