San Francisco's Iconoclastic Phoenix Hotel Makes a Statement With the "Imagine Peace" Package
San Francisco, CA (March 10, 2003)-The Phoenix Hotel (www.thephoenixhotel.com), San Francisco's most irreverent boutique hotel has been called everything from "cool" to "post-modern." With the introduction of their new "Imagine Peace" package, it looks like "groovy" might be next.
Rockers, celebs and notable figures like Dr. Timothy Leary, Joan Baez, David Bowie, Beck, and The Beastie Boys are amongst the many who have frequented The Phoenix Hotel since its opening in 1987. General Manager Kevin Tuckman says "We've created this package as a reflection of our politics, our city and the spirit of our guests. Its our way of making a statement for peace by creating a sanctuary for guests coming to SF, be it to protest or just turn off the news and relax."
For a discounted rate of $89 per night, the "Imagine Peace" package includes: a John Lennon Imagine CD, a peace-sign pin and a list of "10 Things You Can Do To Stop The War On Iraq," published by San Francisco-based Global Exchange (www.globalexchange.org/campaigns/iraq).
This rate will be further reduced to $79 per night for those participating in scheduled Bay Area peace events. For information see the SF Bay Area Peace Calendar at www.peacenowfreedomnow.net.
