Joie De Vivre Hotels Celebrates the Spirit of the Season With a Promotion Designed to Deliver Joy to Your World

Acts of Kindness Are Rewarded With ‘Share the Joy’ Tokens And An Opportunity To Pay It Forward

San Francisco, November 15, 2007 - Beginning December 1, Joie de Vivre Hotels (JdV), California’s largest boutique hotelier, will commence a two-month, grass-roots distribution of 4,000 ‘Share the Joy’ tokens to good citizens in the community as well as individuals who truly practice random acts of kindness.

Honoring Goodwill

Each token, printed with a unique number, can be redeemed for surprises such as spa treatments, hotel rooms, restaurant discounts and entries into a grand prize drawing for a 2008 California getaway. In true spirit of the concept, recipients are then encouraged to ‘pay it forward’ to one additional person as a reward for a good deed done, spreading joy 8,000 times over.

Putting a modern twist on this classic tradition of passing along good tidings, JdV has created a special section on www.jdvhotels.com to allow for unique registration, guaranteed prize redemption and pay-it-forward inspiration. Once the promotional code printed on the token is entered into the website, a prize is awarded and everyone who enters a code is a winner.

“Considering the pace of today’s digital age, sometimes it’s the slowest form of communication that causes the biggest ripple,” said JdV CEO Chip Conley. “The impact of personal interaction and recognition with a token of appreciation is most authentic… and in a time when avatars, email and voicemail rule, it’s that authenticity that sparks the true holiday spirit.”
