Pacific Edge Hotel Hosts Launch Party to Celebrate the Debut of The Bungalows on Laguna Beach

LAGUNA BEACH, Calif. – May 8, 2013 – The Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach drew an invite-only crowd of professional surfers, businesses and local residents who came to the hotel to see the debut of The Bungalows, which were recently renovated by local companies and groups.

The Bungalows are five rooms, reserved for day use from 11:00 a.m. until 8:00 p.m., allowing guests a base of operations for fun in the sun and letting them make the most of their time at the Pacific Edge Hotel. Recently, the five Bungalows were given to local companies and groups to sponsor, and then each of those sponsors was given free reign to completely redecorate their Bungalow in their company’s own sense of style. From Fox Head Inc.’s sexy black and white theme, to Hobie’s tribute to a vintage surf era, to gorjana & griffins nautical embellishments, the interiors are as unique as their company sponsor. Located on the sand and adjacent to Pacific Edge’s infamous The Deck, the Bungalows are socially central; making it easy to sip a drink, jump in the water, or retreat to the shade when needed.

“These Bungalows are truly one of a kind,” said Bill Tremper, General Manager of Pacific Edge Hotel on Laguna Beach. “Being right on the beach, with easy access to the surf, we wanted to give each of the Bungalows their own edge. The sponsors did that magnificently, pouring their heart and soul into the project, with the end result of giving each Bungalow their own unique vibe.”

As guests mingled with such surfing greats as Hobie Alter Sr., Peter “PT” Townend, Mark Occhilupo, Ian Cairns and Mickey Munoz, they were able to nibble on delectable treats of fresh poke, sliders and grilled cheese while sipping on delights such as a watermelon based “Red Tide” cocktail and house-made Margaritas. They experienced The Bungalows by lounging in them and talking to each of the designers about where they drew their inspiration from and then, were able to vote on their favorite one. Though it was a close race, Hobie and Tuvalu came out as the crowd favorite, garnering the most votes.

The five Bungalows are sponsored by:

  • Billabong
  • Fox Head, Inc.
  • Hobie and Tuvalu
  • The Sleepy Hollow Group
  • gorjana & griffin
