My husband and I like to travel spontaneously and were looking for a nice place to stay in San Francisco. We really feel we lucked out in booking two nights at the White Swan Inn on short notice. We greeted by friendly staff--especially Andy who helped us with our car, bikes and luggage, and gave us the lay of the area upon our arrival.
- LucindaVan, TripAdvisorStayed a week at this lovely, clean hotel. Bathroom was small. Fridge was stocked with water and soda-gratis. Staff was super friendly, especially Andy. He gave us great direction, helped with luggage etc. Bed was super comfortable. We used the fireplace one cool night, when we returned from dinner.

Working gas fireplaces in all the rooms, neat little conversation nooks in the downstairs breakfast/lounge area, ... Gratis (and pretty good) wine, and snacks from 5-7, and home-baked cookies or cake available 24/7 in the lobby (if you don't gain 2 pounds a day here, you're really not trying hard enough).

- Joyous56, TripAdvisorWe stayed as a family of 4 in their two bedroom suite - loved the fireplaces and the little nooks and crannies throughout. Definitely much nicer than staying in a corporate "souless" hotel. Nice breakfast in the AM. Great Ramen Noodle place just a few doors down! Would definitely stay again.
