On arrival to our hotel, we were greeted by the loveliest, most welcoming staff! They took our bags without seeming like they were after any tips, drew us a map and told us how to get to all the best places (including where not to go), and were genuinely helpful. We felt like it was a real home away from home.

This I one of the best hotels I've ever stayed in. I love the intimate nature of it. The rooms are big enough with a large walk in closet. The decor is quirky and unique with a colourful bedspread and photos with the world traveler theme. The staff is the most funny and friendly folks. They are a riot and you can tell these guys love their job and meeting new people.

It was a great location and we were able to walk or take the bus to basically any place in the city we wanted to go to. Theo at the reception desk was a joy. He recommended great restaurants that were great and affordable.

Hotel Carlton was a great hotel to stay in, especially having come off three weeks of staying in hostels! The room was serviced each day and the beds were super comfy! Free wireless connected no worries and lots of TV channels.

We stayed here for several nights while we did the tourist thing in SF. A very good location as close to good restaurants, shopping and the popular tourist things. Staff were helpful and friendly. Room was reasonable - a decent size and clean; bed comfy!
