The new Hotel Lincoln is a window to the most dynamic part of Chicago's North Side, Lincoln Park.
Like the neighborhood, the hotel is historic yet fresh, fun though eccentric and active but relaxed. It's where the energy of urban life meets 1,200 green acres and Lake Michigan.

About the Weekend...
An outernational soundclash featuring turntables, laptops, live vocalists and percussion. The TerraSonic sound - everything from LA to Addis, Bombay to Brooklyn - has been compared to Thievery Corp, Nickodemus and Cheb i Sabbah, with strong elements of reggae, hip hop and dub. It's a powerful, uplifting evening of positive, conscious music and dynamic movement hosted by Chicago's Club Divine and Chi Ka Go.
Black Swan Sounds recording artists DJ Drez, EarthRise SoundSystem, Sheela Bringi, and Sikalogy play a weekend yoga music event in Chicago for two nights, October 12 & 13, 2013 at Bodhi Spiritual Center. This weekend event features a dance party on October 12th and yoga classes with live DJ's, a dance meditation workshop, live kirtan and poetry performances on October 13th. This festival like atmosphere includes vendors, body workers, live painting, and more. Local performers and yoga teachers include Dj Carla Starla, DJ Taz, DJ Preston Klik, Rich Logan, Lourdes Paredes, Andrew Gurvey and so many more.
Drez blends yesterday's roots with the innovative urban beats of today. His accomplishments during his gradual evolution from Hip Hop DJ to World Music Taste Maker have made him one of the top DJs and producers in LA's underground music scene. When he isn't in the studio producing, spinning at an underground Hip Hop club or jamming with local artists in impromptu late night sessions, you might find him on his yoga mat. Drez is a certified yoga instructor who teaches privately in Los Angeles and spends time helping fellow musicians with their yoga practice at home and when away on tour. Drez' unique talents are increasingly in demand at local yoga classes as well as yoga retreats and world music festivals from Europe to Asia. His trailblazing, genre-bending body of work has been documented in magazines ranging from The Source to Yoga Journal. WEBSITE
EarthRise SoundSystem is the artistic and live team of DJ/writer/yogi Derek Beres and producer/percussionist Duke Mushroom. The duo's first record, The Yoga Sessions, went to #5 on the iTunes World chart and was featured in the NY Times, Yoga Journal and the Boston Globe. Their follow-up, Remixes Are Songs Too, compiled a number of their remixes, including takes on Femi Kuti, Vieux Farka Toure, Nickodemus and others, and featured "Labyrinths," the theme song from the documentary DMT: The Spirit Molecule. The duo paired up to explore common cultural and sonic ground and create unique soundscapes, equally at home in the yoga studio or club and lounge. Their next album, EarthRise SoundSystem 2.0, will be released in July, 2013. This upbeat effort will feature vocals by Kevin Mambo (who plays Fela in the hit Broadway musical), MC Yogi, Vishal Vaid, C.C. White, Ghalia Benali, Srikala, Sheela Bringi, Marti Bradley and more. Sheela was born to Indian parents who immersed her in classical Indian music, but in the rugged Rocky Mountain foothills of rural Colorado. Growing up at this cultural crossroads, Sheela was entirely surrounded by American music culture, from pop to jazz, while also studying Indian music. Equally adept on the bansuri (bamboo flute), harp and harmonium, and blessed with a heavenly voice, this classically-trained musician displays a brilliant mastery of styles ranging from traditional Indian kirtan and raga to avant-garde jazz. Sheela has performed with such diverse artists as Fred Frith, Cecil Taylor and Meredith Monk, and studied under such Indian music luminaries as G.S. Sachdev, Ustad Aashish Khan and Pandit Swapan Chaudhuri. With a formidable musical dexterity encompassing and unbridled sense of freedom, Sheela employs everything from devotional chant to sounds with more western sensibilities, forging a genuinely 21st-century sacred music experience. WEBSITE
Srikala is an MC, DJ, music producer and percussionist. As a DJ, Srikala uses Ableton Live to perform his original music, improvising with live Indian percussion and ambient vocals. His projects blend the sacred sound of kirtan with hip hop, reggae and dubstep.
In the fall of 2011, Srikala released his first album, Sacred Hip Hop ,with frequent collaborator Anadi. He followed that in March 2012 with Srikalogy Kirtan Sessions, co-produced by Duke Mushroom. He is a lead singer and percussionist with jazz funk fusion band The Flowdown, and a regular collaborator of Didge Project and EarthRise SoundSystem. As an acclaimed up-and-coming music producer, Srikala incorporates mainstream beats into traditional kirtan with Srikirtan and Prema Hara. A master of abundance and joy, Srikala skateboards as life medicine, is a sophisticated mrdanga player and enjoys teaching harmonium workshops throughout the his native New York City. Six years of monastic life has led him to a deep love for kirtan, and since 2005 he has been supporting and leading kirtan at yoga studios and temples across the country. Srikala is a powerhouse of creativity, community mobilization and musical genius, and is dedicated to creating spaces for people to freely open their hearts in creative collaboration. His devotion to bhakti permeates his work, and his musical creations are charting new territory in the world of conscious mainstream music. WEBSITE
