Come learn the process of making fermented cucumber dill pickles the old-fashioned way- no vinegars or chemicals, just good, honest ingredients and after some patient waiting, crunchy delicious dills.
We will be making pickles from cucumbers, water, salt, and any combination of the following spices: dill heads, dill seeds, garlic cloves, peppercorns, red peppers, and mustard seeds. For color, you can also try adding carrot.
This event is designed as a workshop to demonstrate how to make pickles in glass jars for those who have little to no experience making them, but is open to anyone interested in joining along. Participants will leave with their own jar of homemade pickles, and instructions for what to expect in the coming days as your pickles start to ferment.
