PACIFIC BEACH HOTEL LAUNCHES ITS “PASSPORT TO WINE AND DINE” SUMMER SERIES
Honolulu, HI - Pacific Beach Hotel, a destination for locals and visitors for generations, kicks off its “Passport to Wine & Dine” Summer Series on Thursday, June 27th at 5:30 pm. The inaugural event, “A Taste of the Mediterranean”, will feature cuisine and wine from Italy, France, and Spain. It will be held in the Neptune Room on the 2nd Floor.
Located just steps from Waikiki Beach, Pacific Beach Hotel has been reinventing itself in the Honolulu culinary scene and “Passport to Wine & Dine” continues this successful makeover. Director of Food & Beverage Patrick Faas, previously of Disney’s Aulani Resort on Oahu, has pushed creativity and flair since his arrival in February to grow Pacific Beach’s legend.
“The hotel has a prime location on Waikiki Beach, the staff has always showed tremendous professionalism and embraced the aloha spirit, and our goal is to give the community, locals and visitors alike, a top notch dining experience. ‘Passport to Wine & Dine’, the first in our series of events, is a chance to show the world what Pacific Beach Hotel is all about.”
Chef Mariano Lalica, former owner/Executive Chef at the award winning Meritage Restaurant in Honolulu, recently returned to the island after leading the culinary efforts at the Westin St. Francis in San Francisco. He has crafted a menu featuring mouthwatering pupus and entrées with locally bought farm to table ingredients. At “A Taste of the Mediterranean” you’ll be able to sample Chef Mariano’s imaginative dishes such as Kabocha Squash Risotto, Smoked Salmon Mouse and Lavosh, Roaring 40’s Bleu Cheese Mashed Potatoes, and Brandt Farm Beef Short Ribs.
“A Taste of the Mediterranean” will feature top wines from some of the best regions in the world to pair with the culinary delights. You’ll be whisked away to Italy savoring Ruffino Prosecco and Quatro Mani Montepulciano di’Abruzzo, travel to Spain while sipping Lo Neuvo Verdejo and Marques de Caceres Rioja, and will journey to the Heart of France when you taste Louis Latour Pouilly Fuisse and ‘CDR’ Cotes du Rhone.
Live entertainment featuring top local performers and Pacific Beach Hotel’s world famous mermaids will enhance the culinary and wine journey of “A Taste of the Mediterranean”. Tickets are $40 per person.
