Has the thought of a child without a birthday cake ever crossed your mind? If you're like most people, it hasn't. At Cake4Kids, we provide free birthday cakes for San Francisco Bay Area children who would not otherwise have a birthday cake. Cake-Off4Kids 2013 is our signature annual amateur baking contest and tapas style dinner to benefit Cake4Kids. The competition is open to Cake4Kids bakers as well as the general public. There is a maximum of 50 cake entries in the following 5 categories (up to but no more than, 10 cakes per category): * Best Decorated * Best Tasting * Ultimate Chocolate * Made by Kids (bakers must be 15 years old or younger) * Creative Cupcakes All attendees will be able to taste ANY cake in the competition. After official tasting by the judges, attendees will be able to taste a small portion of cake from any of the 50 entries in the competition and vote on their favorite cake entry in the FAN FAVORITE CATEGORY. Cake tasting is on a first-come, first-served basis until a cake is finished. Cake details (cake flavor, frosting flavor, ingredients, total carbs) will be posted for those who may have food allergies or diabetes. In addition, all attendees will be able to enjoy light pasta and salad dinner made available from Mio Vicino'. The Domain Hotel will offer a cash bar in addition to free tea, coffee and water. Cake4Kids is hosting a silent auction with 50 items for bidding as well as vendor demonstrations. Only 250 tasting tickets will be sold to the public, in advance and at the door. Ticket prices are $20 through August 25. Baking contestants receive free admission to the event.
