Press Release 101 with Wanda Hennig
The use of press releases is common in the field of public relations. Typically, the aim is to attract favorable media attention.
You might hire a PR professional to write your press release.
But if you know how, there is no reason not to do it yourself.
The intention of this 1.5 hour workshop is that you leave the class having produced a one-page press release on yourself or a subject / topic / service of your choice. You will get guidelines and a structure for replication.
You can write your own press release:
To use on your website
To send to the media
To announce a new product
To share something interesting or relevant about yourself
To draw attention to a new service
To publicize something you’re doing or offering
To disseminate information on a schedule of events
To generate media coverage by a reporter working on a publication
Wanda Hennig is a long-time journalist (newspapers, magazines, print and online) and copy writer with corporate, non-profit and a strong media credentials. She is also a certified life coach, has a diploma in public relations and has lectured PR professionals on how to work with the media.
