RESCHEDULED Arduino Event: Microcontroller Madness on AUG 13.
Aug 13 2013
7:00 PM - 9:00 PM
156 2nd Street
San Francisco, CA 94105
We have a new date for our rescheduled meeting. Once again, our apologies regarding the cancellation. We were left with few options when we discovered our space was no longer available due to admin error -- 4 hours before our meeting was to start!!
Here's hoping TUESDAY, AUGUST 13 is better for those who couldn't make it and will still work for those of you who wanted to come.
This is another one for the makers. We'll be hearing about microcontrollers. If you have created any kind of Arduino-type project and you'd like to share it, please let us know when you RSVP. We'd like to have a community show & tell at the end of the evening. Or, if you are an expert in this field and would like to speak, we'd like to hear from you.
Tom Sepe, performer, inventor, chef, documentary film maker, activist, sculptor, fabricator and graphic designer. Tom literally does it all. And in his current role as Technical Director at Obscura Digital, he gets to tinker with Arduino too!
Tom will give a primer on Arduino for the uninitiated and discuss big picture context and significance. Then he'll take us through a few of his projects and how they contributed to successful digital installations.
Matt Biddulph, a San Francisco-based creative technologist working on new ways to connect the physical world to the internet. He is currently CTO of Product Club, a new product design and invention company. He was the co-founder of Dopplr, the social network for smarter travel, acquired by Nokia in 2009. He has also worked at the BBC and the UK Press Association, helping old media find a new life online.
"Building your own cellphone with an Arduino"
Ever wanted a phone that doesn't just look like a small black box straight out of a Foxconn factory? All you'll need is a SIM card, an Arduino, a few cheap hardware components and a soldering iron.
And a HUGE thank you to our fantastic sponsor, Onward Search. Looking for a new job? Be sure to get in touch with them.
