JDV Gives
Joie De Vivre is a grassroots organization that strives to have a positive impact on our community. Each of our hotels is dedicated to donating a minimum of $200 per guestroom per year to organizations in their communities.
As an extension of JDV Gives, each hotel participates in the You Can Make a Difference program, launched in April of 2008. The primary objective is to engage our guests by giving them the option to add an additional $1 of their total bill for each night they stay with us. Guests are able to opt out of this program at checkout.
Hotel Tomo’s Philanthropic Partner in the You Can Make a Difference program is America Scores Bay Area, which provides recreational & academic opportunities for at-risk youth in the heart of San Francisco. America Scores and San Francisco Recreation & Parks Department in partnership with local public schools and other nonprofit service providers have launched America Scores Civic Center Soccer League. America Scores uses soccer to engage local youth in physical activity. The league aims to help children get out and play as well as inspire children to gain essential literacy skills through writing workshops and field-side libraries. In addition to a soccer coach, teams will have a writing coach who leads poetry and service learning activities to help the poet–athlete find his/her voice and give back to their community.
