A+C 2013: Market+Octavia (2 LUs)
Sep 10 2013
3:00 PM - 5:00 PM
Northwest corner of Market St. and Octavia Blvd.
San Francisco, CA 94102
The Market & Octavia Area Plan is an innovative plan for San Francisco that provides for substantial growth in a transit rich corridor. The plan balances preservation with contemporary infill development; density with livability; and investment in public infrastructure with citizen involvement. The implementation of the plan has had a long hiatus due to the economic crisis. This walking tour, led by architect David Winslow of the San Francisco Planning Department, will show how thoughtful planning, urban design and architecture can work together to transform a neighborhood bisected by an elevated freeway into a high quality urban neighborhood.
All participants are strongly encouraged to wear comfortable shoes and sunscreen.
