Urban Exploration Hike with GOOD SF
Jun 2 2013
12:30 PM - 4:00 PM
400 Post Street
San Francisco, CA 94102
You're standing at 2nd & Market Street.
Did you know there is a lush public rooftop garden on that building across the street?
Did you know there is a stunning mural in the alley two blocks away?Did you know it's a quick bike ride to the crookedest street in SF (not Lombard Street)?
Join GOOD SF on a free three mile urban hike as we explore the hidden secrets of downtown, Chinatown, and SOMA! As we hike, we'll also post signs prompting our fellow San Franciscans to explore this great city by foot and by bike.
If you enjoy exploring and want to encourage others to do the same, join us! Sometimes all people need is a simple little prompt to discover a new way to get to their favorite hangout spot, or to discover a new favorite hangout spot!
We'll meet at 12:30pm under the pillar in the middle of Union Square. Look for the group wearing bright green GOOD t-shirts. We'll roam the city learning and posting prompts about POPOS, public art, walking distances, bike routes, SF history, and so much more! The hiking route will be relatively flat and low difficulty. Please wear comfortable shoes and bring water.
After two hours of exploring, we will make our way to the spectacular indoor-outdoor Jones bar at 2pm, where drinks will be half off! We'll kick back and discuss what we discovered.
Take alternative transportation to and from the event!
Bike to the event using the San Francisco Bicycle Coalition's handy SF Bike Map!
