Please join the AIA San Francisco, Health + Science Committee for a program to be presented by Dr. Wayne Ruga, FAIA, founder of The Center for Health Design (CHD),
founder of the Symposium on Healthcare Design (HFSE),
and founder of The CARITAS Project.
Dr. Ruga will challenge our practice paradigms and inspire our creative aspirations with a participatory discussion of a new research-based design method called 'generative space' that he has developed and tested in global applications.
Learning Objectives - attendees will learn:
1. A new methodology for designing vitality-enhancing environments.
2. Strategies for improving lives, organizations, and communities with
design of the environment.
3. How to design environments to support sustained improvements.
4. Why most environments deteriorate over time, and how to avoid this.
Dr. Ruga is an award-winning California architect, pioneering thought
leader, and global change agent. Based in Manchester, England, he works
on a variety of history-altering initiatives including the 'Leading by Design'
project which involves an international group of leaders and their respective
organizations who are applying his methods and demonstrating the benefits of their application.
