Vegetable Literacy For Thanksgiving
Nov 23 2013
11:00 AM - 2:00 PM

For many of us, turkey is the star of the Thanksgiving table. But it's the vegetable side dishes that make the meal. This year think about adding a dish featuring local or heirloom vegetables to the mix.
Noted and well-respected vegetarian cookbook author Deborah Madison has plenty of ideas for celebrating produce in her new book "Vegetable Literacy". Organized around twelve vegetable families, this hefty volume abounds with tempting recipes, appealing photos and sage advice.
Attendees at the event will have the opportunity to talk with Deborah, enjoy an amazing three-course lunch from local FnB chef Charleen Badman (aka the vegetable whisperer) and receive a copy of Vegetable Literacy from Changing Hands bookstore (a $40 value).
You'll also hear about Slow Food's renewed efforts to honor (and document) our vanishing foods and food traditions through the Ark of Taste project.
Don't delay, this event will sell out!
