ASU Concerts at the Center features performances by the faculty and students of the acclaimed Arizona State University Herberger Institute School of Music. From Queen Creek to Cave Creek, Apache Junction to Peoria, secondary school-age harp students are flourishing, working with teachers in their school districts, in orchestras and bands, and privately in lessons and harp ensembles. This very special evening offers the opportunity to hear an orchestra accompany these talented young musicians in concerto movements and harp ensemble repertoire. Led by harp instructors and music directors from across the Valley, more than 40 students will perform, sharing their talent, dedication and commitment to the discipline of music. Audience members may meet harp ensemble students in the lobby before the concert and at intermission as they perform and talk about the harp, its rich history, intriguing construction and 21st-century innovation, and the role that music, and playing the harp, fills in their lives.
