Hotel Carlton

Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Existing Building Operations and Maintenance, U.S. Green Building Council
Hotel Carlton, has earned the prestigious Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design Existing Building Operations and Maintenance (LEED-EB O&M) Gold certification from the U.S. Green Building Council (USGBC). The hotel is the first in the country to earn the rigorous Gold certification under the USGBC's newly-revamped LEED-EB O&M rating system which debuted last year and was designed specifically to address the needs of existing buildings.

2009 Gold Award, Travel Weekly Magellan Awards
The Hotel Carlton was acknowledged with a Gold award for its environmental sustainability initiatives, with such notable achievements as attaining LEED-Gold certification this year in the existing buildings category from the U.S. Green Building Council, effectively making it the greenest hotel in San Francisco.

2009 Innovation Award, Hotel Hero Awards, Hotel Council of San Francisco
This award is given to the hotel or hotel company that used the most innovative approaches to improving the customer experience in a San Francisco-based hotel. Located in the urban heart of San Francisco, the 161-room Hotel Carlton is the first solar powered hotel in the city. In addition to installing solar panels last year, the property introduced new green practices and policies to further reduce its carbon footprint.

2008 Lodging Property Achievement Award, California Hotel & Lodging Association
Hotel Carton received this award for "Good Earthkeeping,” recognizing success in areas such as energy conservation, waste reduction, water conservation, effluents and emissions and that has developed a culture that integrates environmental management practices that improve everyday operations and the bottom line, while maintaining quality service and meeting guest expectations.

Hotel Durant

2008 Expanding Sustainability Award, City of Berkeley
The Hotel Durant was awarded the Expanding Sustainability Award by the City of Berkeley in recognition of its efforts in greening and sustainability. Hotel Durant, Berkeley's only full-service boutique hotel, joined the Joie de Vivre collection in October of 2008 following a $9 million renovation and was certified as a Green Business by the County of Alameda shortly thereafter.
