Joie de Vivre is pleased to offer Green Meeting options at many of our hotels. Here are some highlights:

Green Meeting Standards

  • Meeting room is equipped with recycle/composting bins
  • China, glassware, ceramic creamers and sugar dispensers will be used
  • Paper pads will be printed on recycled paper, using vegetable or soy-based inks, and placed at the back of the room for participants to use as needed.
  • Water will be served in large pitchers and will not be pre-poured for participants
  • Energy efficient lighting will be used to illuminate the meeting room
  • Menu will offer local, organic and sustainable foods whenever possible
  • Any leftover food will be donated to local food banks and shelters when possible

Green Meeting Programs

Grow With Us: Plant a Tree at U.C. Berkeley – if you book a total of 50 guestroom nights or $5000 in meetings or special events in one calendar year at Hotel Durant, we will plant one tree on campus in your honor. You will also receive a dedication certificate, a listing on the Grow with Us map on our website, recognition at our annual reception and PR opportunities.
