A great place to launch a Pacific Heights mansion tour (including Danielle Steel's gargantuan white mansion at 2080 Washington - the old Spreckels Mansion). Great views both north and south and a nice place to meet the aristocratic locals and their dogs. Other great homes to check out include Whittier Mansion (2090 Jackson), Bourn Mansion (2550 Webster), and the Haas-Lilienthal House at 2007 Franklin, which offers tours (415-441-3000).
