The Hornet is one of a handful of aircraft carriers that have been thoughtfully restored and moored permanently as museums to allow everyone to experience the awesome size and power of one of the Navy’s greatest battleships. The Hornet participated in two of the greatest events of the 20th century-World War II and the Apollo 11 manned space mission. Self-tours and guided tours are available.
