From symphony, to soul, to stand-up comedy to blues and broadway shows The Paramount Theatre in downtown Oakland is an institution. It is included in the National Register of Historic Places, and is a California Registered Historical Landmark, as well as, a U.S. National Historical Landmark. Oakland's Paramount Theatre is one of the finest remaining examples of Art Deco design in the United States. Designed by renowned San Francisco architect Timothy L. Pflueger and completed in late 1931 this is a very historic venue to experience all kinds of modern entertainment. Ticket must be purchased in advance so check the website for upcoming shows.
