Hike to the top of Mt. Saint Helena for break-taking views of the Bay Area and, on a clear day, see all the way to Mt. Shasta. It's a five-mile trip to the summit, the last several miles of which are unpaved road. The area features rough terrain, with evergreen forests in the canyons on north-facing slopes and chaparral to the south. Of interest to the literary-minded, the famous author and park namesake spent his honeymoon in a cabin here along the trail in 1880.
