Skip the Unreal

Here’s what’s making us happy this week.

Brunch on the ground. Sure, San Francisco’s got some good brunches eaten on a table, but they are notoriously hard for scoring reservations. Head to Off the Grid in the Presidio, overlooking the Bay. Grab eggs benedict, pizza, or Asian fare from food trucks. Bring a blanket.

The second pizza. Pizzeria Uno is the famed deep dish in Chicago. But it attracts so many pizza addicts that the pizzeria thought up Pizzeria Due. Wait for half the time and get the same pie—now that’s a deal.

Authentic salsa. Miami Beach’s Mango’s is that place that all tourists hit. Locals go to Hoy Como Ayer in Shenandoah. The Cuban club bumps live music for always-dancing patrons. It’s small, it’s cozy, often sweaty, but oh-so-real.
