December 5th was the day that America prohibited Prohibition.
The 18th Amendment to the Constitution was definitely a buzz kill. Can you imagine living 13 years in a nation where the “manufacture, sale, transport, import, or export of alcoholic beverages” was illegal? On December 5th, 1933, Prohibition was repealed, and alcohol was out of the garter belts and back on the table: nearly every table in America. Let’s drink to that 82 years later.
