A Day of Monkeys

Pencil in another holiday on your December calendar.

Just when you thought the only holidays you had to worry about this month were Chanukah, Christmas, New Year’s Eve, Kwanzaa, Saturnalia, Omisoka, and your husband’s birthday (who plans to have kids near Christmas??), along comes Monkey Day on December 14th. Even though, it’s another holiday, we had to find ways to celebrate. Epiphany happened while chomping into a brioche-like slice of Chicago’s gooey monkey bread. Dig in at these places:

Feeling savory? The Bristol’s monkey bread with dill butter and sea salt is baked to crispy perfection. It’s the next level of comfort food.

Only slightly sweet? Have Revival Social Club’s monkey bread, topped with a drizzle of bourbon caramel sauce, for breakfast. Or, get it on the dessert menu, plus a scoop of vanilla.

Bring on the sugar overload? Cinnamon sugar and cream cheese frosting top Smoke Daddy’s doughy, cinnamon roll-esque monkey bread.
