Daniel Korn, Vice President of Business Strategy, Commune Hotels & Resorts
Dan brings a rare mix of investment and operations experience to Commune Hotels & Resorts, which he formally joined in 2013. In his role at Commune, Dan is responsible for guiding the company’s strategic direction, as well as for leading the integration of the company’s various hotel brands.
Dan joined Geolo Capital, the private equity arm of the John A. Pritzker Family and a Commune shareholder, in 2008, and currently serves as a Principal of the firm. After helping to orchestrate Geolo’s acquisition of Carmel Valley Ranch in 2009, Dan shifted focus from investor to operator, serving as General Manager and then Managing Director of the resort for more than three years. Under Dan’s leadership, Carmel Valley Ranch established its position as a world-class resort, assembling an extraordinary team, repositioning itself as an experiential destination, and tripling its business.
A New York native, Dan now lives with his wife and daughter near San Francisco. He holds a JD from Stanford Law School, an MBA from the Stanford Graduate School of Business and a BA from Yale University.
