- 5 things I love about the San Francisco Bay Area:
- The trees, the casual international crowd, the views of San Francisco, the sunshine and running in Tilden Park.
- My favorite local hidden treasure you shouldn't miss:
- Tilden Park – there are many trails and hikes in gorgeous setting. If you take a hike or run on the Bay Area Ridge Trail you get rewarded with a spectacular view of the entire Bay Area. From San Francisco to Mount Diablo. The best thing is that you get to be among the trees, in a peaceful and quiet area and yet are only 20 minutes away from one of the most exciting cities in the world.
- My perfect day spent in the East Bay:
- Get up before it gets too hot and head for a long run in Tilden Park. Afterwards zip down to Café Strada for a water and a cappuccino and hang for an hour with a good book. Maybe do some shopping on College Ave. After a shower grab some lunch at the Tilden Golf Course Café and bask in the sunshine and trees. In the afternoon maybe catch a movie at one of the downtown theatres and top it off with a pizza at Jupiter’s (downtown) at one of their outside tables near a fire pit. A perfect day.
