- Diversity of people, Excellent cuisine, Convenience of Living, Being surrounded by water, and Proximity to Marin, Napa, Berkeley, Tahoe.
- My favorite local hidden treasure you shouldn't miss:
- Michelangelo Park in Russian Hill is a great place to picnic. There is a grass area and a beautiful array of flowers. There is also a playground if you have kids to entertain. It is tucked away on Greenwich and Jones and not many people know that it exists. I love to catch some sun there and read a book.
- My perfect day spent in the San Francisco Bay Area:
- Well my perfect day would start out at Alta Plaza Park in Pacific Heights. We would walk through the park along Jackson Street and admire the view of the Bay. We would walk from the Park to Fillmore Street and stroll along down to Peet’s Coffee & Tea. Here we could grab a cappuccino and people watch at one of the outside tables. After our fill of interesting folks, we would continue down Fillmore to the Bay Bread Boulangerie on Pine Street and taste some French pastries. As we munch on the pastries we would head back up Fillmore for some shopping at the lovely boutiques.
- For lunch we would head over to North Beach and eat at The House (415)986-8612 for some wonderful Fusion cuisine. The restaurant is small in size but leaves a big impression. Everything on the menu from the Salmon Rolls to the Pomegranate Pork Chop to the Apple Pie is delicious. A great place to go for lunch or an intimate dinner. In order to work off our meal, we would walk up Grant Avenue to explore the Art galleries and unique shops including Schein & Schein which is home to antique prints and maps.
- Next we would walk up to the Filbert Street Steps and try and catch a glimpse of the Parrots of Telegraph Hill. We would down the steps admiring the gardens. From there we’d cross the Embarcadero and walk south to the Ferry Building. Here we could browse all the scrumptious eats. We would stop at the Wine Bar for a few glasses of vino and to rest our feet. Then we could head over to Hog Island for some raw oyster appetizers.
- If the Giant’s are in town, we would walk down to AT&T Park and eat some hot dogs while we can catch the excellent vista from our seats.
- Afterwards we would take MUNI over to the Mission District for some spicy Mexican Food at Puerto Alegre (415)255-8201. While we wait for a table we could sip a variety of specialty Martinis at Blondie’s next door. One of my favorites is the Chocolate-tini. After dinner we would hit the Elbo Room for some live music and dancing.
- After this last stop we would need some sleep so as to prepare for tomorrow’s adventure!
