Balmy Alley murals, Farmer's Market at the Ferry Building, The Castro Theater (and the organist, of course), Fraenkel Gallery and City Lights bookstore
My perfect day spent in the San Francisco Bay Area:
I'd start my perfect day with brunch at the Zuni Cafe then walk it off with stops at Bell'Ochio, Link Gallery and mid-century furniture stores on the opposite side of Market Street. To ensure that the day goes well, I'd visit the Botanica Sirena on Church Street to perfect my juju and supplement my stash of candles and herbs for future mojo needs. Feeling inspired and connected to the heavens, I'd fly a kite on the Marina Green and stop at the Wave Organ for amazing sounds and views of the Golden Gate Bridge then over to Fort Ross where a famous scene from Vertigo was filmed. I'd go on to North Beach to shop for poetry books at CityLights Bookstore and now that I've set the mood after reading all that poetry, off to Jack Early Park for a kiss against a backdrop of more gorgeous views of the Bay. Next to Mario's Cigar Bar for a double espresso. Once energized, a walk through the vertical park of the Filbert steps for another great vantage of the water and hopefully a glimpse of the wild parrots. Dinner at Da Flora, a treasure of authentic Florentine cuisine in a romantic setting of candlelight and deep red walls. Finally, to Porchlight at Cafe du Nord on Market Street to hear people from all walks of life, none of them professional, tell stories about a common theme. If I'm not too tired afterward, then one last drink at the sixties inspired bar/restaurant Lime.
